Museum of Local Life

We have just returned from a wonderful week in Oughterade.

We enjoyed all aspects of the town, the church, the food, the lough, the shops and would certainly return one day.

We would have liked to have seen a museum though about the History, Geology etc of the area. John in Greenway’s was telling us it once had a garrison town locally. We wouldn’t have known this if he hadn’t have said.

We wondered if the courthouse will have a museum part to it. We’d definitely look inside if it did.

We wish you well with your courthouse project. It will be a great boost to the village.
