  • Just to say Colonel Doig’s first name should be Claude and not John. Also it is unlikely that his father (Arthur John Doig) is buried in Oughterard as he died in India from cholera in 1888. I am on holiday in Oughterard at the moment and with the help of Leslie Lyons, found the grave and gravestone where Scrope Berdimore, Claude Prendergast and Ellen Maude are buried. I registered to use this excellent website before but have now forgotten my log in details as it is sometime since I used it and would be grateful if you could re-advise me of this please. Many thanks Rhona Petrie
