In, Oughterard, Michael Phipps, of Philadelphia, had with the old wall, bur near where the edge of the mound dips [toward the setting sun, erected a cross with he inscription upon it: “To the memory of my grandfather, Michael Phipps, a captain of insurgents in 1798, who died July 1826”
NOTE: We are not 100% sure if the Oughterard mentioned in the article is Oughterard, Co. Galway as there is more than one Oughterard in Ireland.
