James and Honor Mons of Glann, had ten children, this page contains pictures of Honor and seven of the “children” as well as the Mons home at Glann.
The pictures (except the pictures of Bridget and the 2005 homestead ruin) were provided to me by Mary Lee, Granddaughter of James & Honor Mons, and my cousin.
Reference/Context: James & Honor Mons are my GG-Grand parents; their daughter, Bridget Delia Lydon (nee Mons) born in Glann, died in Boston USA, is my G-Grandmother. Mary Lee’s mother was Bridget’s sister, Celia Lee (nee Mons) .

Would you happen to know which Lee Family Celia Mons married? My grandmother was Maria Lee from Derrymoyle. I seem to remember my great uncle Stephen Lee was a good friend of Pat Mons.
Thanks
Hello Regina
I have emailed you some records via email
Thank you for posting this. The photos are great.
Very grateful for this historical family research. As the present owner of Antfield, it adds much to the jigsaw of its rich history. My Aunt Mary (Lee) told me many stories about Antfield as a safe house during the civil war.interesting in light of the coming 1916 centenary. I would be most grateful if anyone has more photos or information concerning Antfield House (Gortnashingaun). Greetings to all the U.S. relatives.
Hi Kathy, It would be great to connect, you can reach me at e-mail – [email protected]
Hello Mons Family! My Kelly ancestors also lived in Glann/Gortnashingaun/Antfield. Our first cousin, Jim Kelly’s mother was Annie MONS b. Glann m.1900, neighbors of KELLYs, was the niece of Robert SULLIVAN who owned land in the area and appears in the Griffith’s Valuation. I would love to hear from you, Jeff.
Amazing history of our Irish Heritage-thank you Jeff Fitzgerald for taking the time to share great memories-your cousin Lynne Shea
