  • Would you happen to know which Lee Family Celia Mons married? My grandmother was Maria Lee from Derrymoyle. I seem to remember my great uncle Stephen Lee was a good friend of Pat Mons.

    Thanks

  • Very grateful for this historical family research. As the present owner of Antfield, it adds much to the jigsaw of its rich history. My Aunt Mary (Lee) told me many stories about Antfield as a safe house during the civil war.interesting in light of the coming 1916 centenary. I would be most grateful if anyone has more photos or information concerning Antfield House (Gortnashingaun). Greetings to all the U.S. relatives.

  • Hello Mons Family! My Kelly ancestors also lived in Glann/Gortnashingaun/Antfield. Our first cousin, Jim Kelly’s mother was Annie MONS b. Glann m.1900, neighbors of KELLYs, was the niece of Robert SULLIVAN who owned land in the area and appears in the Griffith’s Valuation. I would love to hear from you, Jeff.
