In 1957 John ford, the director of the movie, "The Quiet Man" [1952] released an anthology film, consisting of three films.

Aughnanure Castle features in the first of the trilogy. A short film entitled "The Majesty of the Law' based on a short story by Frank O'Connor

In "The Majesty of the Law," a police officer must arrest a very old-fashioned, traditional fellow for assault. The man's principles have the policeman and the whole village, including the man he slugged, sympathizing with him. Tyrone Power introduces each story.
