Aunt Eileen

By Clann Resource Centre

Aunt Eileen lived in a little village between Kylemore and Tullycross called Currywongain. She had a family of ten, five boys and five girls. Money was very scarce and when her turn came to have the stations there was panic (the stations were mass in the house which all the neighbours would attend. The house would be done up from top to bottom). Aunt Eileen and her daughter had an idea. They went over to the woods in kylemore and collected all kinds of beautiful coloured leaves, flowers, ivy and loads of greenery. On the morning of the stations the house was a picture. It was the talk of the neighbourhood for weeks. Aunt Eileen is now in her eighties and still hale and hearty.
