I think both Pauline and Máirín are right because jackie’s parents mark and Mary were married in the Church of the Immaculate Conception Oughterard on 11th March 1924. Mark’s father is listed on the marriage Certificate as John and Mary’s father is listed as Pat. The happy couple were both were Geoghegans with Mark’s family from Lettercrav and Mary’s from Glengowla. The certificate is available for free on Genealogy.ie / Civil Records
I am a daughter of Jackie Geoghegan and he told me this is Pat Geoghegan in the photo who was his grandfather.
Is it certain that this photo is Jackie Geoghegan’s grandfather because his grandfather’s name was John, not Pat, muna bhfuil dul amú mór orm. I would be grateful if you could check with Jackie. We, down here by the sea in Carraroe are interested because his grandmother was born next door.
